I have always had a keen interest in art, but more than that, a desire to construct; bring my imaginative visions to life and attain a personalized understanding of the world around me. Growing up in a family bursting with creativity, I was encouraged to pursue any interest that could develop into a skill. I explored several creative methods and manners of expanding my interest, all in all falling in love with the act of creating.
Taking my art to a new level, I narrowed my focus to Photography. I have always loved taking pictures. I am and forever will be captivated by the intense beauty I see around me, both in people and the natural world. Not only do I embrace the opportunity to still time, but select the exact pieces of information I retain from the moments that pass. For me, Photography is a chance to create my own world through the objects, people and surroundings I choose to enclose in every shot.
As much as I have a love for photography, I have a passion for nature. This, along with the sentiment and memories I cherish from growing up in a rural area, make my gravitation toward Natural Photography a given. Living beyond the city lights, surrounded by fields, streams and space is necessary to my sanity. It has shaped my personality, and given me the most wonderful experiences. I have an increasing interest in rural life. Growing up, my family lived on a relatively spacious plot of land that it was impeccably well cared for. My parents were avid gardeners, and created a haven of sorts for my siblings and I to play in. We grew our own produce, ate home cooked meals, and were encouraged to spend our time in the great outdoors. We also had special opportunity to go to our ‘home away from home,’ which is one hundred acres of land in a forgotten, rustic area. My interest in country life has driven me to preserve nature’s raw innocence and capture its ferocity. Ultimately, directing my career in photography.
Thus, I create work that appeals to me, and I can only hope that someone else might see it’s rustic appeal too.  My goal in sharing my photographs with others is that the viewer might pause, if only for one small moment, and reevaluate their surroundings. The images tell stories of the places I have been and the people that inhabit the land. My work is best described as nature and culture coinciding to create a landscape. I gather inspiration from personal experience and interaction with the great outdoors. Nature is my passion, photography is my art.
